Welcome to the public library!


Havre-Hill County Library is a public library funded by the City of Havre and Hill County.

The Havre-Hill County Library will empower our users by providing free and equitable access to the tools, materials, programs, and life-enhancing services necessary to meet their needs as citizens and seekers of information.

The public library is handicap accessible with public restrooms, study space and a meeting room.  Library cards are free.  The following libraries share library cards and an online library catalog: Blaine County Library, Harlem Public Library, Havre-Hill County Library and Liberty County Library.




Commonly Asked Questions

What do I need to get a library card?

Permanent Cards require:

An ID with name and picture,  a mailing address, a phone number, and an alternate contact from someone who does not live in the same household as you.  You or your alternate contact are not required to live in Havre.

Temp card

If you are missing any of the above, you can still get a temp card.  This is a card is limited to two items at a time and cannot check out electronics or participate in inter-library loans.

Do I need to live in Havre to get a card?

No.

Also, we honor cards from Blaine County Library, Harlem Public Library, and Liberty County Library in addition to ours.

Do you have late fees?

We do not have “late” fees.  We do have fees for lost or damaged items.

Do You have WiFi or Computers?

We have Wifi and computers available for anyone to use even without a card.

Do You have hotspots?

Hotspots are available for checkout.  We suggest calling ahead to see if one is available as they are very popular.

Can I put a hotspot on hold?

No. They are first come first serve.
